I recently stayed at Sven's Basecamp for 3 nights and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The cabin I stayed in was nicely heated, ensuring I stayed cozy during my stay. The overall cleanliness of the amenities was impressive, and there was always freshly made coffee and homemade cookies available. I couldn't ask for more at this price!
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

The location was perfect, close to everything we wanted to see and do. The cabin we stayed in had electricity and wifi, which was a nice surprise. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The furniture in the cabin was old and uncomfortable. The bed seemed worn down and there was no mattress, just a thin pad.

The atmosphere at this hostel was incredible, and the staff were absolutely amazing. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay. The location was also perfect for starting my Alaska adventure, with plenty of shops nearby for all my adventure needs. Plus, it was a great place to meet other travelers who were either finishing their trip or just starting. I had such a great time here, and I would definitely recommend it to others.
There were a few drawbacks to my stay. The shower being coin-operated was a bit inconvenient, and I wish they had just included the cost in the overall price.

I had an incredible stay at this hostel! The location is perfect, with a bus stop right outside that takes you to downtown and a supermarket within a 15-minute walk. The staff was friendly and supportive, and the hot showers were amazing. The well-equipped kitchen and cabin with amenities like TV and books were a bonus. I met so many interesting travelers and had a great time sharing stories. Highly recommend!
The lack of lighting on the property made it hard to navigate in the evenings.

We loved everything about this hostel. The facilities were clean and well-maintained. They had hot showers available for a small fee and clean bathrooms. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking meals and there was even a cabin with entertainment options like TV, DVDs, books, and magazines. The location was convenient with a bus stop right outside the hostel, making it easy to explore downtown, museums, and supermarkets. The staff were friendly and supportive, and we had the opportunity to meet and talk to other interesting travelers. Highly recommended!
Nothing, everything was great.

This is a great option for backpackers taking a break or arriving in town for a tour the next day. The facilities support tent camping, shared spaces, and private cabins. Everything is clean and in good repair. The kitchen facilities are more than adequate for simple meals and food storage. Once you get the tour from the staff, you're left on your own, and you're not cheek-to-jowl with other travelers. Two major grocery stores are a short walk away.
I recommend this hotel.
